Evidence Ignores Spirit of Prophecy: 1971 Froom - "Movement of Destiny"

1971 . . .

The 700-page tome, Movement of Destiny, by LeRoy E. Froom, published in 1971, holds a unique place in Adventist annals. If and when this work is carefully analyzed it will prove to be an embarrassing piece of unreliable history. Yet it came from the Review and Herald Publishing Association with promotional material that begs comparison.

Further Evidence of 1888 History Re-write: 1966 - A. V. Olson

1966 . . .

Concern in the field caused more books to come from our denominational press to rewrite this history. A. V. Olson’s 1966 publication about the Minneapolis era was given a mysterious title contradictory to history. His work was entitled, Through Crisis to Victory 1888-1901. But not once does Ellen White refer to 1888 as a “victory.” She calls it defeat—”Satan succeeded in shutting away from our people, in a great measure, the special power of the Holy Spirit” (1888 Materials, p. 1575).

The Spirit of Freedom

E. J. Waggoner

“For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God. For you did not receive the spirit of bondage again to fear, but you received the Spirit of adoption by whom we cry out, “Abba, Father.” The Spirit Himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God, and if children, then heirs—heirs of God and joint heirs with Christ, if indeed we suffer with Him, that we may also be glorified together” (Rom. 8:14–17).
