The Fact That Jesus Has . . .

From: The Back Page

"The Fact That Jesus Has . . . "

The fact that Jesus has done everything for man is sometimes perverted. It is often said that as He fulfilled the law, keeping it for us, we have nothing whatever to do with it. That is the same as saying that because He always told the truth, we may lie with impunity; that as He honored the Father, we are free to dishonor Him. No greater error could be conceived.

Foundational Principles | E. J. Waggoner

Excerpt: "The just have to live their lives on this earth in the flesh, and that life is the life which they live by faith. The physical life of the just person is by faith. 'I am crucified with Christ; nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave Himself for me.' Gal. 2:20. The life of Jesus is to be "made manifest in our mortal flesh.' 2 Cor. 4:11."  E. J. Waggoner.

"Didn't Think" | E. J. Waggoner

“Didn’t Think”

Didn’t Think.—When reminded of the performance of some misdeed which comes very naturally to us, we are prone to excuse ourselves with the statement, “I didn’t think.” That is a mistake. True, we did not think of the right thing; but our performance of the deed was due to the fact that our thoughts were unconsciously running in that channel. “Out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaketh.” Matt. 12:34. “As he thinketh in his heart, so is he.” Prov. 23:7. If a man did not think evil, he would not do evil.

What Is It as to Babylon the Daughters?

SO LONG as a person walks in the light of God, loves and accepts the truth of God, however that truth may come to him, so long the presence and the power of God will accompany him, and he will have influence with men. The abiding presence and power of God is the only true source of legitimate power and influence with men.

What Is It as to Babylon the Daughters?

WE have seen that, up to the time of the planting of the American colonies, each denomination that had been developed by the advance steps of the Reformation had become joined to the state; and that the Independents, or Congregationalists, who had not joined themselves to the state in Europe, did so in the New England colonies, while the Church of England was the established church in all the Southern colonies.
