Fear of Simple Belief

In a talk at the late Keswick Convention, Dr. A. T. Pierson called attention in the following words to a most alarming state of things in the Christian church, and its cause:—

There was one thing at which our Lord Himself marveled while here on the earth, and that was unbelief.

There is such a thing as being too cautious. 

If you are going to preach to me, or try to teach me, tell me only what you know, not what you think. Neither waste time telling me what you believe.

Don’t give me your belief that a thing is so as authority for it.
