God's Word Creates
God’s Word Creates
Having seen that Christ, the Word, is the Creator of all things, and that He redeems by His creative power, let us now learn what the Bible says as to how He created. Here is the answer: "By the word of the Lord were the heavens made; and all the host of them by the breath of His mouth. He gathereth the waters of the sea together as a heap: He lays up the depth in storehouses. Let all the earth fear the Lord: let all the inhabitants of the world stand in awe of Him.
Justification is a Fact
E. J. Waggoner
“There is but one thing in this world that a man needs and that is justification—and justification is a fact, not a theory. It is the gospel. That which does not tend to righteousness is of no avail, and not worthy to be preached.
Quote: "Justification is a fact . . .."
E. J. Waggoner
“There is but one thing in this world that a man needs and that is justification—and justification is a fact, not a theory. It is the gospel. That which does not tend to righteousness is of no avail, and not worthy to be preached. Righteousness can only be attained through faith; consequently all things worthy to be preached must tend to justification by faith.”
--General Conference Daily Bulletin, March 11, 1891, p. 74.
The Unpardonable Sin
"Faith is the only means of salvation. There is no sin that cannot be forgiven the one who believes, for "with the heart man believeth unto righteousness." But he who refuses to believe shuts himself off from life and righteousness. In short, the unpardonable sin is the sin that rejects pardon.”
Saving Faith
"If you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved”
“Affliction in Resisting Temptation”
We are exhorted to resist the devil “steadfast in the faith, knowing that the same afflictions are experienced by your brotherhood in the world” (1 Peter 5:9).
Righteousness, the Law, and the Sabbath
Righteousness is only found in one place, and that is in Christ. The law recognizes and accepts only Christ’s righteousness and so for a man to be righteous, the law must see only Christ’s righteousness in him. The law will never accept man’s efforts to meet its standards.
