There is a "rumor" that has become popular in the Church - that James was confused about the gospel and had mostly an Old Covenant understanding - that he was not truly a New Covenant writer.

The old covenant, therefore, together with the law, which pertained to it, was never for one moment of any value whatever for pardon and salvation from sin. It was "made void" even from the beginning.
